Featured Speakers:
Eileen M. Terry
SVP and Chief People Officer
Panda Restaurant Group, Los Angeles
Eileen Terry is the Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer of Panda Restaurant Group, Inc. (PRG), the leading and fastest growing chain of Asian dining experiences in the world that includes Panda Inn, Panda Express and Hibachi-San. Eileen leads the Human Resources, Restaurant Operations Learning and Compensation and Benefits Departments and is responsible for the growth and development of 20,000 associates.
Eileen is committed to fulfilling PRG’s Mission, which is to “Deliver exceptional Asian dining experiences by building an organization where people are inspired to better their lives.” To realize this Mission, Panda’s 2020 Vision was established with the charge to “Be recognized as the World Leader in People Development to become loved by our Guests.” This Vision has elevated the commitment by every Panda associate to take personal responsibility to shape Panda’s culture by creating a safe and empowering conversational environment for Team Panda to listen, appreciate and challenge each other in bringing the 2020 Vision alive and in action.
Eileen graduated with degrees in Philosophy and Sociology from College of St. Catherine. After not finding a real market for a “Philosopher-in-Residence,” she started her business climb with Procter & Gamble. She moved on to Pillsbury Corporation, Southland Corporation and then Chevron, taking positions from multi-unit oversight to marketing, merchandising, and operations management.
Eileen’s next stop was Blockbuster, Inc., where she successfully progressed upward through several positions before becoming the only female to reach the top ranking of Executive Vice President inside Blockbuster.
She has served as the Global Diversity Officer driving forward Blockbuster’s global diversity efforts, and she successfully developed a world-class diversity council and program that resulted in several national awards by key ethnic/diversity groups.
After a hiatus from the corporate world to pursue her passion for coaching, Eileen is now applying her love for people to those she serves at PRG, which has 1,500 restaurants in 42 States and Mexico City, and will exceed $1.6 billion in revenue in 2012.
Eileen enjoys golf, football, singing, and spending time with her dogs and family. One thing that makes Eileen who she is would be her joy and passion for life, which is apparent in her trademark laugh.
